Hard-Pocalypse

So currently, consumer products have been surging in prices (again) due
to AI industry basically hogging them LOL.

To be fair, it's just basic supply and demand; demand coming from BIG TECH
so supply is being accomodated to them, and they're easier to work with.
They order in big bulks and they have near unlimited funds to use, why
would manufacturers even bother trying to sell the the annoying consumer
sector?

We can talk about geo-political patterns regarding this or how this could
be a move by the tech-minnati to usher consumer sheep into a full time
hardware subscription model but I will just speak on how this affects me.

It does not LOL.

First off, I am perfectly capable of using old hardware - heck the hardware
I'm using right now is not even state of the art latest, prolly a decade old
hardware that I just patch up for modern sensibilities. And I just got this
maybe a couple of years ago. Before that, I was rocking a PC that had i&-4790
so I have no problem using "retro" gear.

Second, I feel like this will only affect certain consumers, not the actual
tech enthusiasts as we will just find a way to go around it. Low prices are
nice but it doesn't really stop the technolust from getting what we want lol.
Also, this only really affects the MEGA CHAD tech gear heads, normie
consumers will be fine with their basic computers.

Overall, while it doesn't really affect me that hard - it does make a pretty
dent on my wallet, especiallty since I do love my extra storage rather than
the latest GPUS, RAM, or processors. Maybe I will find alternate methods to
figure out what I will do going forward lol.

P.S: These kinds of things/events are one of the bad reasons I hoard most of
my PC hardware LOL. I was literally thinking of doing a tech cleanup but now
maybe I won't or be more selective of what I want to get rid of.
